BARIUM DINONYLNAPHTHALENE SULFONATE

Barium dinonylnaphthalene sulfonate (DBNBS) is a corrosion inhibitor and rust preventive in liquid form, used to protect metals like iron, galvanized and aluminum from corrosion.

It’s commonly used in machining fluids, hydraulic fluids, quenchants, and cutting oils.

DBNBS forms a protective film on the metal, which prevents the metal from corroding or rusting.

It works by disrupting the electric charge on the metal surface, which creates an environment in which aggressive environmental factors (such as water and oxygen) can’t damage the metal.

DBNBS is also compatible with most other additives used in lubrication formulations, so it can be used in combination with other lubricants or additives.

BARIUM DINONYLNAPHTHALENE SULFONATE

BARIUM DINONYLNAPHTHALENE SULFONATE is a brown or dark brown thick liquid, prepared from nonylene and naphthalene.

It provides the lubricant with good antirust and demulsifying performance, and oil solubility as well.

No deposit would be produced in preparation of additive packages.

The product is an excellent antirust and demulsifying agent.

It can serve as antirust additive and emulsion breaker for antiwear hydraulic oils; antirust agent for industrial lubricating agent (such as paper machine oil, rock drill oil, steam turbine oil and circulation oil) running in damp environment;and antirust agent for lubricating grease as well.

Barium dinonylnaphthalene sulfonate is a chemical compound commonly used as a dispersant in various industries, including the petroleum industry. It is an anionic surfactant that helps to improve the flow and stability of liquid formulations.

Barium dinonylnaphthalene sulfonate is produced by reacting naphthalene with dinonyl sulfide and then sulfonating the resulting compound with sulfuric acid. The sulfonated product is then neutralized with barium hydroxide to form the final salt.

In applications, barium dinonylnaphthalene sulfonate acts as a dispersant by reducing the attraction between particles, allowing them to stay suspended in a liquid without clumping or settling. This is particularly useful in industries such as oil drilling and paints, where the dispersant helps to maintain the stability and homogeneity of the formulations.

Barium dinonylnaphthalene sulfonate is also used as a wetting agent, meaning it lowers the surface tension of a liquid, allowing it to spread more easily on surfaces. This property is useful in applications such as emulsion polymerization, where the wetting agent helps to evenly distribute reactants and improve the efficiency of the process.

Overall, barium dinonylnaphthalene sulfonate is a versatile chemical that finds applications in various industries due to its dispersing and wetting properties. It helps to improve the performance and stability of formulations, leading to more efficient processes and better end products.
