Product Introduction
T109D is a super overbased calcium alkyl salicylate detergent developed for modern lubricant formulations. With a total base number above 340 mgKOH/g, it provides strong acid neutralisation and effective deposit control, protecting engine components under demanding heavy-duty service.
Calcium alkyl salicylate belongs to the salicylate detergent family, formed from calcium oxide and alkyl salicylic acid. It functions as a detergent-dispersant, keeping combustion by-products and oxidation residues suspended and preventing the formation of deposits and sludge. As a super overbased grade, T109D carries a significantly higher base reserve than medium overbased grades such as T109B, making it suitable where sustained alkalinity and high-temperature cleanliness are required.
Typical applications include engine oils, heavy-duty diesel engine oils, marine and stationary engine oil formulations where high detergency and acid-neutralising capacity are required.
